GIGER KAFI
Rebranding & Package Design
GIGER KAFI, a traditional coffee brand from Bern, set out to refresh its identity. The ambition was to protect its roots while moving the design forward.
At the center stood the Bernese bear. Deeply embedded in regional culture and highly recognizable. Our task was to reinterpret this symbol without losing its essence. The brand needed to remain grounded in tradition while opening up to new audiences.
We redesigned the iconic bear with a clearer and more confident presence. The box in its paw was replaced with a stylized coffee bean. A subtle change with strong impact. It strengthens the link to the product and highlights craftsmanship and origin.
The visual language balances reduction and character. Deep brown meets warm cream and yellow accents. A reference to coffee enjoyment and a nod to the colors of Bern. Bauhaus inspired typography adds structure and Swiss clarity to the system.
The result is an identity that stays rooted in Bernese culture while taking a decisive step forward in design. Familiar at its core. Contemporary in its expression. show less
